1. Precision Connection, No Deflection

The main purpose of the off-axis guider (OAG) is to use the same optical path as the main camera when guiding during astrophotography. Using an OAG avoids the problem of differential deflection that can occur when using a separate guide scope. With an OAG, part of the image is picked-off from the edge of the imaging circle which does /*C*not*C*/ block the main CCD. Off-axis guiding provides more accurate guiding /*C*and*C*/ sharper final images.

All QHY off-axis guiders have the same body that includes an 8mmx8mm multi-coated prism to pick off the beam for the guide camera. The position of the prism can be adjusted as needed /*C*and*C*/ locked down. The main camera connects to the OAG with six 3mm screws that ensure connection accuracy /*C*and*C*/ parallelism, providing a reliable /*C*and*C*/ secure mechanical connection.

2. QHY Off-Axis Guider for Small Cameras /*C*and*C*/ Filter Wheels

QHY off-axis guiders come in three sizes: large, medium /*C*and*C*/ small. These three sizes accommodate the dimensions of the telescope-camera interface /*C*and*C*/ the light aperture suitable for different sizes of cameras /*C*and*C*/ adapter accessories.

With a diameter of 54mm, this small version of the QHY OAG only works with M42x0.75 adapters. It supports cameras with sensors smaller than APS-C such as the QHY695A, QHY90A, QHY163, QHY183, QHY290, /*C*and*C*/ QHY174, for example. It also works with the QHYCFW3S-series small filter wheels.

The QHYOAG-S weighs 127g.

3. Precise Easy Focusing

Each QHY OAG includes a locking helical 1.25” focuser with a 6mm range to help focus an image on your guide camera. When using QHY5II /*C*and*C*/ QHY5III autoguiding cameras, the position of these cameras can be further adjusted in the OAG itself to accommodate a wide range of back focus.

4. Multiple Adapters /*C*and*C*/ Flexible Combinations

In addition to connecting a QHY camera, you can also interface with various standard /*C*or*C*/ optional accessories provided by QHYCCD to achieve complex /*C*and*C*/ adaptable connections, including the use of the OAG as a stand-alone unit, connection to QHY filter wheels, /*C*and*C*/ other applications.
